Debbie Johnson

Being Mindful
Debbie is a mindfulness teacher, trainer and consultant of mindfulness and related disciplines. She runs the 8-week MBSR/MBCT in the public and private sector, as well as workshops in organisations, communities and family settings, and offers one to one mindfulness and relationship coaching. She is an accredited teacher through the Centre for Mindfulness Research & Practice at Bangor University. Debbie has also trained as a Supervisor with the CIC via Bangor and assists new students on their path to teaching. Debbie has studied extensively in the Shambhala meditation tradition, and taught as a meditation teacher and instructor for many years.

In 2009 Debbie founded Being Mindful with Tessa Watt, one of the first companies in the UK to offer mindfulness courses in London. Debbie follows the Good Practice Guidelines set out by the UK Network for Mindfulness-Based Teacher Training Organisations; this is the Gold Standard model of mindfulness taught throughout the world, and includes continued practitioner development and supervision.

Debbie has been practising for 25 years and has taught mindfulness at meditation retreats in USA and Europe. She recently finished an 18 month world tour as a personal assistant to Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, an eminent teacher, writer and thought leader in the field of mindfulness meditation. She has taught in London at BBC, Proctor and Gamble, University of Westminster, Nursing and Midwifery Council, NHS First Steps and Lambeth Council, as well as a range of other workplaces and schools, and currently teaches with the Mindfulness Project in central London.
