Gender Pay Gap – what does it all mean?

April 18th, 2018

After a huge build-up the deadline has passed. So what have we learnt? Firstly, more than three quarters of Britain’s organisations have a gap that favours men. Although there’s been significant debate that the metric is too basic to measure what’s really happening with women and men at work, the good thing is that it has started the conversation. This leads onto the second finding. The majority of organisations blame their gender pay gap on the lack of women in senior roles. Even if this is the case, it’s important leaders put in place a systemic plan to promote more women otherwise they will find nothing has changed in two or three years’ time.

The problem is, where to start? To help employers we’ve developed GENIE Evaluation. It’s a diagnostic tool that measures the experience of employees against a range of academic, industry and primary research. The results inform organisations where and how to intervene to help women within their workforce maximise their careers and their contributions as well as feeling supported to thrive.
