About The Pipeline

Margaret McDonagh and Lorna Fitzsimons originally co-founded The Pipeline in response to the astonishing number of females leaving executives roles; Corporate UK had lost 40% of its female executives over the last decade.

The Pipeline specialises in executive leadership development to help organisations create a sustainable pipeline of senior women and improve gender diversity at the highest levels. We believe employers who recognise and promote the talents of female executives will be financially more successful.

Both our founders continue to share their insight with boards, CEOs and individual women to overcome barriers and help them prepare for senior roles, based on their experience of leading successful careers in business and politics.

Margaret was the first female General Secretary of the Labour Party and has held executive and non-executive director roles at various organisations including Standard Life and Smart Energy GB.

Lorna has won IPR’s Young Communicator of the Year, represented her local constituency as an MP, and since gone on to lead one of the most successful public-private partnerships in the UK.
